FAN 2016 Movie Review

I will be doing this review in two parts; Negative and Positive

Plot: Aryan Khanna is a famous movie star (a life representation of SRK,of course). Gaurav Chandna who calls himself Junior Aryan Khanna( and kinda looks like him) is his die-hard fan whose life revolves around Aryan. Some bad things happen when Gaurav finally meets Aryan which angers Gaurav and he then vows to make Aryan's life hell and will only stop if Aryan apologises. Aryan being a super duper star refuses to say 'Sorry'. Finally, who wins? Aryan or Gaurav?
 
Negative : The storyline was very boring. I've seen many movies which has predictable storylines and yet were able to keep me entertained. FAN however, failed to do so. They kept dragging some parts. For example, the chase sequences. Gosshh, 50 % of the movie was Aryan chasing Gaurav. Too damn long. 
 Plus, some parts of the movie didn't make much sense to me. Like how does a small time cyber cafe owner manages to go to Dubrovnik and create a false identity and manages to trick 10 million people who are well-versed in security?? Is it really that easy to frame another person especially someone so high-profiled just because you look like them? God, my brain hurts. 
Also, Aryan doesn't say 'Sorry' till the end which is just rude. Yes, Gaurav was a pain in the ass but he was a dedicated fan and it was Aryan's fault for making Gaurav like that. I didn't really get the message they were trying to deliver.

 Positive: SRK's acting is definitely the only thing that made me happy. He was amazing. As we already know, he does both Aryan and Gaurav's part. There were parts when I had to remind myself that these two characters are played by the same person cause they looked super different. There was also a part where SRK was acting as Aryan Khanna who was pretending to be Gaurav and another one where SRK was Gaurav who was pretending to be Aryan. Absolutely priceless. 
The makeup team did an amazing job. Gaurav looked like Aryan and yet, there was a subtle difference. It was damn good!
The editing and visuals were also flawless. The fight scenes between Aryan and Gaurav looked exactly like how it'd look if two people fought. It makes us forget that both Gaurav and Aryan is played by SRK.


So, basically it was an OK movie. Kudos for the impressive effort put into it. The team did an amazing job. Every aspect of the movie was done amazingly except the storyline. It wasn't that bad but it didn't excite me either. 

Verdict: 2.95/5.00
